Audio Engineering Techniques & Technology
18-months (24-month option), part-time. Designed to give the you an in-depth knowledge of sound recording
and engineering, offers a high quantity of practical teaching, and makes use of the full-range
of faciltities available here at SSR.

Live Sound Engineering (Stand Alone)
As part of the Charlie Jones Project, and in association with over 50 audio and video industry
organisations (led by Wigwam Acoustics), SSR are delighted to announce a unique new LIVE SOUND
training module.

Film & TV Audio Post Production
SSR’s Film and TV Audio Post production course offers modular, first-class training in all aspects of video and audio post
production, developing techniques and creative awareness. The video components explore workflows such as editing, colour grading
and authoring; whilst the audio section includes sound effects, ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) and music.

Electronic Music Production
6-months, part-time. Based around Cubase and Reason, this
course teaches the production of electronic music using a virtual studio and a range of
industry-standard software and hardware. Some studio recording is also included.

DJ Technique (Technics DJ Academy)
4-months, part-time. This unique course offers
comprehensive DJ tuition. Covers mixing,
scratching, digital DJ technology, events & promotion from basic to advanced level.

Music Technology
6-months, part-time. An introduction to sound recording and engineering, covering fundamental
subject areas including microphone techniques, mixing desks and multi-track recording.

Foundation Degree: FdSc Sound Engineering & Design
A 2-year, full-time vocational course designed to teach the fundamental elements of sound recording and music production, while
focusing these skills towards the specific purpose of sound design for visual media.
Provision is available for students who successfully complete the FdSc to continue studying for a third year towards the award of
BSc(Hons) in Sound Engineering & Design, or to switch to the third year of the BSc(Hons) in Sound Engineering Systems.

BSc(Hons) Sound Engineering & Design
A 3-year, full-time course designed to develop the necessary industry-specific skills to enter full-time employment in the fields
of live and studio engineering and sound design in visual media.

BSc(Hons) Sound Engineering Systems
A 3-year, full-time course run in partnership with the University of Bolton, designed to provide students with a broad-based
training in the design, development and application of musical and sound design engineering, with further studies of the electrical
and electronic systems central to sound and audio engineering.

Foundation Degree in Music Production
The Foundation Degree in Music Production provides an in-depth preparation for a diversity of careers in the recording industry.
Content will cover Studio Production in professional studios, computer music production using industry standard software and
compositional work, live music production options and audio visual media production. Media based modules will explore web based
applications and formats and studio and music management through both academic study and practical application.

BSc Music Video Production
A research and analysis course that examines music videos from its beginnings to the present day. It provides access and study of
the new cyclorama studio and the equipment technology necessary to create professional productions from cameras to lights and
sound. The focus is to fine tune the knowledge of visual storytelling into a practical tools kit for creating music videos and
structuring different formats and mediums with various technology.

FdA Radio Production
From idea to transmission, this course will operate through workshops, demonstrations and applied theory, helping the student to
develop the skills required within the broadcast medium. Recording equipment, editing tools and operating a radio studio desk are
key.

Customised Courses for Young People
We work in conjunction with Connexions, Scout groups and the Arts Council to provide
tailor-made courses for young people in DJing, music production, vocals, dance and movement,
stage performance and more.

SSR are running a series of week-long Masterclasses from our world-famous facilities based in Central Manchester. So, whether you want to be a famous singer or performer, a big name DJ, a Record Producer, or in a successful band, you can start developing your career over the school holiday period this summer.
