Is it possible to do more than one course at a time?
In the case of the private courses, the answer is yes, you can participate
in 2 or even 3 courses at once, timetables permitting. Obviously this represents
an almost full-time commitment to the school.
In the case of the funded courses it is only possible to do one course at a time. Participation in subsequent funded courses calls for the candidate to fullfil the relevent eligibility requirements.

When can I apply for a course?
You can apply for a private course at any time, up to 18 months in advance. A registration
fee of £100 is payable to reserve your place on each course. It must be noted that
once all the places on a course are filled, applications can be forwarded to the next available
semester if the candidate wishes, or alternatively, the candidate can be put on a standby
list in case of a last-minute drop-out from the semester of their choice.
For the funded courses applications must be made through the relevent channels (please refer to the "courses" page).

How do I choose the best payment plan?
The fees (including the registration fee) can be paid to us by cheque made payable to Spirit SSR Limited. Please note that the amount on the cheque must be in pounds sterling. We also accept cash payments but strongly advise against sending us cash via post. You may also transfer money directly into our bank account. Our account details are available on request. We also accept
most credit/debit cards. Card payments can be made over the phone or by completing your card
details on the application forms. Registration for private courses may also be made online.

Does SSR accept foreign students?
Yes. We are happy to receive students from anywhere in the world.

Will I require a visa to study at SSR?
This will depend on your nationality. Residents of European Union countries and United States will not need a visa. Other countries have various stipulations. You are advised to contact your nearest British Embassy. It would be helpful if you can provide a letter from ourselves, confirming that you have been accepted on the course. You may also need proof that you will be able to fund the course and support yourself without working during your time here. Finally, details of where you will be staying during the course may also be an advantage.

How do I go about finding accomodation?
We are able to offer a limited number of places in our own, exclusive student accommodation at Grove Village. The accommodation section of the website [click here] gives full details, along with other useful links and suggestions for both long and short stay accommodation.

Do my course fees include studio time?
Absolutely. There is no extra charge regardless of how much studio time you book, so long as the session is part of your course work.
::top::
Is it possible to do the course whilst working in a full time job?
In the case of the private courses, yes. You can attend the evening lectures and do your practical time in the evening or at weekends. Of course a student with fewer commitments will be available to take advantage of more studio time.
Students participating in funded courses are not permitted to work for the duration of the course.

What are the school's entry requirements?
There are no compulsory requirements, but Maths, English and Physics to GCSE/GCE
standard would be helpful. If however you have no formal qualifications do not be put off as some of our best students have been in the same position.

Do I need to be able to play a musical instrument?
No. It possibly helps to be musical, but is by no means essential.
