Ian Brown Scholarship
Course - Any SSR Jakarta Course
The Ian Brown Scholarship was introduced in 2010 at SSR London and has proved a great success. We are proud to announce that a bursary fund in Ian Brown’s name will be available for underprivileged students at SSR Jakarta, allowing potential students to apply for an up to IDR 50,000,000 bursary towards any SSR Jakarta course.
The Scholarship is designed to support talented, creative and ambitious individuals with the potential to offer something special to the industry. Ian Brown has enjoyed an incredible career in music as lead singer with seminal Manchester band The Stone Roses and has released 7 solo albums.
Ian’s links with SSR stretch back to the early days when we operated as a commercial studio in Manchester. The Stone Roses were one of the first bands to use the studios and created the demo that eventually led to their first record contract at our Spirit Studios.

Ian Brown:
“It is an honour for me to be supporting SSR Jakarta and the next generation of talented producers and engineers being taught there. I have a long history with SSR in Manchester from the early days recording with The Stone Roses and I hope the scholarship in Jakarta inspires the next generation of talented producers and artists”
Danny Murniadi – Marketing & Business Development Director:
“We are delighted that we will be offering the Ian Brown scholarship in Jakarta. Through our 3 scholarships we aim to provide unique educational opportunities to prospective students that may otherwise be out of their reach due to social/monetary restrictions. We believe this scholarship will be of great benefit to young people in Indonesia and look forward to receiving applications.”
