The most current and comprehensive industry led Live Sound and Broadcast training course in the UK

The Live Sound Industry is growing fast. Currently 46% of all Music Industry full-time jobs are within the fields of Live Sound. As part of our ongoing partnership with Wigwam Acoustics and our other creative partners, SSR are delighted to provide a brand new training programme that will provide a high level of industry-led, hands-on training currently unavailable elsewhere in the UK.

The course is taught in SSR’s new 2,000 sq ft venue housing a state-of-the-art live rig. Key people from within this field will be providing lectures, demonstrations, advice and hands-on opportunities for students, to ensure that SSR are able to deliver back into their industry, prospective employees with meaningful skills. Vast amounts of equipment, technology and expertise have been provided for this course, to allow SSR to educate students to a level valued by potential employers and fill a gap that has become recognised by the industry itself.

The course also makes extensive use of the Digidesign suite. The facility, one of the only two in the world (the other being in Los Angeles), features a D-Show console and allows students to perform “Virtual Stadium Mixing” – the process of mixing the sound from gigs by the likes of The Black Eyed Peas and Tom Petty whilst watching the accompanying video footage.

Course tutor Jay Beard has invaluable experience to pass on having toured the world with the likes of Doves, Elbow and Snow Patrol. Amongst the guest lecturers credits are Madonna, George Michael and Iron Maiden. The Live Sound Engineering course at SSR has a phenomenal success rate and is the ideal platform to launch into a career in the Live Sound industry.
