Phase 1
The course begins with the basic principles of sound and sound recording, along with the key elements of the 21st century recording studio. Using our studios you will work both individually and as part of a team. Pro Tools 101 and 110 is covered, and studio practical time has additional support available from a team of experienced technicians.

Phase 2Based in our Mac suite this phase focuses on the use of industry software to learn skills such as sequencing, editing and processing. Reason, Logic Pro and Pro Tools 201 are all covered. Studio production skills are further developed in our intermediate studios where students will be working with Pro Tools HD systems, analogue and digital technologies and control surface consoles.

Phase 3 ‘S’ – Advanced studio productionThis phase is dedicated to bringing your studio engineering and production skills up to a professional level using the school’s advanced analogue and digital consoles. You will be producing work to the highest industry and commercial standards. This phase includes post production and detailed mastering modules which cover both digital and analogue workflows.
