SSR London, in partnership with HOTWIRED MUSIC, is proud to announce an exciting new programme of short courses in music composition and production.

These innovative courses offer a unique alternative to other music production courses and are aimed at anyone wanting to learn about:

• -Developing their musicality, musical perception and creativity
• -Composition techniques and Programming skills
• -Achieving a better playing level/technique on the piano/keyboard/synth

Hotwired uses an approach which translates well to all musical styles and is suitable for composers, songwriters, solo artists, music producers, singers, DJ’s, programmers and passionate hobbyists of any kind.

Delivery/Tutor

The courses will be delivered by industry expert Matt McKinley. Mat has been a freelance composer, arranger, programmer and performer of music for a wide range of media including TV, Radio, Multi and Interactive Media, Theatre, Modern Dance and Commercial Music production. His work has been heard on the BBC, ITV, Channels 4 and 5, Sky and many other National and European satellite and cable networks.

This in-depth, 2 day course will cover the elements outlined on the one day course above, along with the following subjects:

• Create great sounding chords to accompany a melody
• Scale templates
• Advanced arrangement techniques
• Composition techniques
• Harmonics and how to use them

Requirements & Prerequisites

-You are NOT REQUIRED to be able to read music to attend this course.
-Having a basic or advanced keyboard technique will be an advantage but it is not a prerequisite. This course is about the application of knowledge. Keyboard technique is perfected through practise.
-These courses are relevant and can be applied to any music genres.

Additional Extras

Students on the course will also be eligible for additional access to SSR studios and rehearsal space, be that for yourself as an artist or artists you represent.

The attendees of either the Hotwired S.T.R.I.K.E (Lite) or Hotwired Live (Lite) courses will be eligible for a special discount should they wish to purchase the Hotwired Music Production Pack. The Pack is designed to keep you continually learning and improving and contains eight books and a DVD, with each book focusing on a specific area. The pack is best described as the essential resource for composers, programmers and producers working creatively with music. On the DVD there are hundreds of audio demos, plenty of MIDI files and analytical text showing you how to perform many of the tasks that are often thought of as being difficult.
