In an unsigned band? Singer/songwriter looking to record a demo? We often get asked, "How can I get into your studios?"
Our audio engineering and music production students are always on the lookout for people to work with on their projects, coursework and for extra experience. Many longstanding band/engineer relationships have started in this way, and many successful artists started in our studios working with our students. Why not post a message on one of our facebook pages, or drop off a ‘wanted/needed' poster for our notice board? Who knows, it could be the start of something great!
SSR provides a number of services for schools, colleges and other institutions such as youth clubs and community groups.
visits to SSR for schools and club groups offer interactive, hands-on workshops. These provide overview sessions in a range of subjects: music recording and production, live sound, DJ'ing, radio production, television and film production, etc., or if preferred, we can create bespoke demonstrations to fit in with your curriculum. Part of the package may include careers advice and Q&A sessions which highlight the wide range of employment options from studying at SSR. SSR Learning Days
typically last between 3 to 4 hours (excluding breaks) and are charged on a per-head basis.
Or perhaps you only require a simple tour of SSR's facilities? The tour will sample a selection of our facilities, describing their uses and equipment, and conclude in a short presentation/careers talk. A standard tour can be offered free of charge; however it will not include the full participation workshops or demonstrations provided in the Learning Days.
We also offer an opportunity for SSR to come to your institution and talk to your students about SSR, our courses, and the career opportunities in this industry. This could be as part of a special assembly, careers fair, or other event. While we highlight the benefits of higher education at SSR during these events, we are mindful not to create inappropriate ‘sales pitches' during these events, and focus more on careers advice. We can provide all necessary equipment, or use your facilities (where applicable) to deliver these presentations.
All our Learning Days
and school visits have a strong emphasis on fun yet informative workshops, encouraging your students to participate wherever possible, while trying to broaden their horizons on the opportunities that a career in the creative industries can offer.
Please contact your nearest campus to discuss your requirements in further detail.
Are you a manufacturer with some new equipment that you think might benefit our students? Do you want to demonstrate your new products to the new generation of engineers/technicians? Maybe you just want to reach a wider target audience? Our facilities can be booked for special product launches, demonstrations and events. If you wish to discuss a product event at SSR, please contact your nearest campus for further details.
