Alex moved to Manchester in 2006 to study for his degree in Historical Studies and Philosophy at The University of Manchester. Upon completing this he joined our Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology course in 2009. He began working at SSR in 2011 and has since become of only three people in the UK to be AVID Certified as both a Pro Tools Music Expert (310M) and VENUE Operator (210V).
Working as an engineer as well as musician gives Alex experience on ‘both sides of the glass’. Currently the Chief Engineer at Castle Rock Studios, over the course of his career Alex has worked with a variety artists both in the studio and touring throughout Europe including Dave Sharp (The Alarm), Hawkwind, Jamelia, JJ Rosa, Jonathan Ansell (G4), King Kartel, Liam Fray (The Courteeners), Megan Dixon Hood, Pegasus Bridge, Ritual King, Ten Foot Wizard and The Wildhearts.
His work has been featured on BBC2, BBC3, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, Channel 5, Kerrang!, and Rocksound TV.
