The V Project
The V-project is a level 4 vocational training experience. Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), the aim of V is to deliver level 4 training in sound technologies, alongside a work-experience placement in a chosen field within the music, media and entertainment industries.

The main vocational areas covered by V include:

  • Theatre sound
  • Film and TV production and post-production
  • Recording studio engineering and production
  • Sound technology retail
  • Club and venue sound engineering
  • Public address systems design and setup

 

SSR, in collaboration with the chosen placement company, will design a 48-week programme of training and work experience consisting of:

  • Digital sound production (including ProTools 101 certified training)
  • Sound effects and soundscapes
  • Post-production (sound for film and tv)
  • Career development and work-based learning

 

Students will attend SSR for 7 hours per week and embark on a work placement for 1 full day per week.

 

Entry requirements

  • Applicants must be unemployed, over 18 and living in the Greater Manchester, Lancashire or Cheshire area
  • Previous Sound Engineering experience
