Summer School Series - Music Production & Remixing

Everybody wants to work in their favourite genre. That’s what makes this 5 day, highly practical and hands-on summer school course in Manchester so cool – it’s all about making your own music the way you want it to sound; creating beats, bass lines and more, using a variety of hardware and software.

Working in our editing suites and classrooms, you’ll get to grips with music production software such as Ableton Live and Logic Pro, and get your hands on hardware such as the Ableton Push controller, Native Instruments Maschine and keyboard and modular synthesisers.

Discover the best way to arrange and sequence your tracks and bring them to life with effects and processing; learn how to sample other tracks and manipulate those samples for your own productions.

Or maybe you have a particular track in mind that you wish to give your own particular ‘treatment’? We’ll show you how to pull apart an existing track (using the original 'stems' or just the stereo file) and apply your own style and ideas to it to remix it into something entirely new. Something entirely yours!

It doesn't matter what genre you're into, you’ll be able to apply the techniques and skills from this course in your own way.

  • Synthesis, and creating your own sound
