As part of our new Guest Lectures series of events we are honoured to welcome Grammy award winner and renowned music producer Steve Levine to SSR for an exclusive lecture and Q&A session on Friday 29th April.

Starting as a trainee tape-op at CBS studios in 1975, Steve progressed to in house engineer and worked with many now classic new wave & punk acts including The Clash, The Jags, The Vibrators and XTC.

Beach Boy, Bruce Johnson was to play an important part in Steve's early career, culminating with Steve producing an album for the Beach Boys several years later.

Steve produced all of Culture Club’s classic hits and the bands’ three multi-platinum albums. Since then he has worked with a wide spectrum of artistes and composed a number of film scores. Artists collaborations include Honeyz, China Crisis, Gary Moore, Ziggy Marley, Louise, The Creatures, Lemmy & Motorhead, David Grant, Westworld, Mis-teeq and 911.

Steve has collected a number of prestigious awards including BPI Producer of the Year, Musicweek Top Singles Producer and a Grammy for his work with Deniece Williams.

Steve is a regular guest speaker at various pro-audio seminars for companies such as HarmanAudio,Yamaha, Korg & Apple Computers, Including production master-classes at the Apple store in London. Steve has also appeared on many radio and TV programs, he is a regular guest on BBC’s 6 Music.

During this visit to SSR, Steve will be talking about his life and career in music, sharing some of his knowledge and offering tips and advice for the budding engineers/producers amongst you, our students.

We are delighted that Steve has offered to share his time with us all and this is an opportunity for you to hear from a hugely successful, experienced and prolific producer. So, an opportunity not to be missed!
