Amy Macdonald is a Scottish recording artist. Macdonald rose to fame in 2007 with her debut album, This Is the Life (2007) and its fourth single, "This Is the Life". The single charted at number one in six different countries worldwide, and charted inside the top ten in another eleven countries worldwide.

This is Amy’s 3rd album entitled Life in a Beautiful Light which was released on Monday 11th June 2012 by Melodramatic Records (Mercury / Universal), the single Slow it Down has been Radio 2 A-listed for the past few weeks. Joe worked as Recording Engineer in Logic at State of The Ark Studios in Richmond on an EMI TG 1 desk from 1968 which was also used to record 3 Rolling Stones albums.

SSR Tutor Joe Fields:
“After 3 months of recording and mixing Amy Macdonald’s 3rd album "Life in a Beautiful Light" was released on 11th June and is currently sitting at number 3 in the midweek charts! I’ve been lucky enough to record all 3 of Amy’s albums but this time I think she’s really stepped it up a gear”

Joe’s commercial work outside of SSR is hugely encouraged as it is with all our tutors. We believe that industry activity benefits our students through the knowledge and skills that are passed on.
