The Amarylas record at SSR London
SSR London was proud to welcome The Amarylas to our studios for the first of their professional recordings.
Formed in 2007, the band describes its style as “Pixies meets The Shins” and a classic sound with Victorian-inspired lyrics and an undeniably modern sensibility. They are due to release their new track “Self-Medication” later this year with a music video to accompany.
SSR students assisted with the recording which took place in the Neve Studio and was led by SSR’s studio manager and sound engineer Andrew Kyprianou. It is this type of real world industry experience that makes SSR training unique.
SSR Studio Manager Andrew Kyprianou:
“The Amarylas were great in the studio, we had only 6 hours to record the track and this was achieved successfully, thanks to the high quality of the facilities at SSR London and the skills of my student assistants Dan Smith and Jay Thomas”
