SSR London - Nate Young track mastered at SSR London
Nate Young track mastered at SSR London
SSR’S Head of Audio Jonathan Espinosa has been mastering a track for signed artist Nate Young in SSR’s world class ICON D Control ES studio.

Nate Young started singing professionally at 16 years old and has developed into an amazing vocalist and writer. Now 21, Nate has worked with some of the stars of today, Chipmunk, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah, Ortise Williams (JLS) and Ghetts to name a few.

SSR student Louis Lennon had the chance to sit in on the session and witness first hand the art of mastering. The track, "Someone to love" will be released next week and will be airing on all major Radio networks. Nate chose Jonathan as one of the industry’s finest mastering engineers and the SSR ICON studio was the perfect setting.

SSR London Head of Audio Jonathan Espinosa:
“The ICON Studio here at SSR, with an Avid D-Control ES Control Surface and PMC surround-sound monitoring, offers an impressive, professional environment for recording, mixing and mastering. The PMC monitors in particular were ideal for mastering a track of this calibre due to their superb clarity and stereo imaging.”

SSR first intakes of students in March are already working in the ICON facility just 6 months into the course, something few other audio schools can match. And from here the students will be introduced to SSR’s Neve studio giving them access to arguably two of the finest analogue and digital work surfaces in the industry.

Ensuring that commercial work runs alongside the training process is one of the reasons why SSR is so respected in the industry as an audio engineering school.
