Lisa Stansfield's long awaited new album Seven was released back in February to positive reviews from both the UK and international music press. The album, written and produced by Lisa and her husband Ian Devaney, was recorded at Gracieland Studios in Rochdale during the latter half of 2013.
SSR Audio Engineering tutor Steve Boyce-Buckley was one of the main engineers for the recording sessions, and was assisted during the sessions by SSR graduate students Jack Langfeld and Adam Kelly.
Jack and Adam both studied on our Audio Engineering Techniques & Technology course from September 2011 and graduated in 2013. During their time on the course both students demonstrated their strong technical skills and professionalism which led to Steve inviting them to assist on the sessions for the album.
Upon release, the record was selected as 'Album of the Week' on BBC Radio 2 and the lead single Carry On was also playlisted on the station.
The recording of the album is further reinforcement of our core policy when it comes to employing industry active professionals to teach our students. It is also a great testament to Jack and Adam's hard work on the course that they were invited to assist on the sessions, gaining some great experience in the process.
The album is available now through both iTunes, Amazon and record shops.Lisa Stansfield Official Website
