SSR Manchester - Danny Hevingham / H2 Guest Lecture
Danny Hevingham / H2 Guest Lecture
Danny Hevingham recently returned to SSR to deliver a guest lecture on Music Production in our Spirit Studio.

Danny studied at SSR back in 2004 when we ran our HND in Music Production which has now changed into our FDA Music Production. Since leaving Danny has worked tirelessly in the studio and produced tracks which have been signed to some of the biggest labels in dance music, most notably Get Physical.

Danny began his career as a resident at renowned Manchester nightclub Sankeys with his first record being signed to “form” by techno heavyweight POPOF. Danny and production partner Tez Perez have since gone onto to have their music signed to world famous labels like Get Physical and Cecile maintain their deep signature sound. The pair have remixed artists like Nick Curly and been championed by artists as big as Maceo Plex.

He was enthusiastic about coming back to SSR and sharing some of the knowledge he has picked during and after his studies. He gave a detailed analysis of his best workflow when building a track and little tips on how he produces his own signature sound. Danny took questions throughout his talk which helped stir up hot debates about production methods.

At the end of the lecture Danny spoke about best practice and codes of conduct when approaching artists and big labels. He also gave a few useful tips on how to make money and break into what is a very competitive industry.

Danny Hevingham H2:
“It was great to come back to SSR after 8 years, to pass my skills and knowledge on to the EMP students; it only seems like yesterday when I was the one sat there. I am already looking forward to coming back and talking to the new intake of students. I think the facilities and the tutors at SSR are amazing, and it has a real impact on the Manchester music scene.”

Danny and Tez have just finished writing an album which is set to be released on the Get Physical imprint. Danny also plans to come back to SSR for another lecture sometime this year, which will be announced in due course.
