SSR Manchester - SSR post-production tutor Dean Covill works on
SSR post-production tutor Dean Covill works on "Tash Force"
Dean teaches on our industry course Film/Tv Audio Post Production and has recently been working on the sound for new film release “Tash Force”.

Tash Force can best be described as “Spinal Tap meets The Football Factory” and is a mad-cap comedy about Tash McDermott, Head of Lancashire Constabulary's Football Intelligence Unit. Tash tries to track down a football hooligan ring leader, and put a stop to "shenanigans" on the terraces.

Tash is on the trail of the elusive ‘Nightmare’, a notorious football hooligan. Inspired by TV programmes like ‘Police, Camera, Action’, Tash is giving a journalist unrestricted access to cover his operation. Tash is however stuck in the glory days of the past, when football was a man’s game, women knew their place, a ruck was pretty much guaranteed, and he was top of the football intelligence league for arrests and banning orders.

Dean acted as the Supervising Sound Editor on this feature with SSR graduate Kelly Young acting as Sound Editor and ex-SSR Tutor Norbert Weiher working as Re-Recording Mixer.

We are really happy to hear of Dean’s involvement with Tash Force. Industry active tutors are a key trait of SSR as real world projects like this can be used to give industry insights to our students.

The DVD will available in all major retailers from 21st April and you can pre-order this already from Amazon / HMV.

Their is also a premier at King Georges Hall in Blackburn on 19th April. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster or the venue itself for £8.00 (proceeds of which go to charity).

We would also like to announce that Dean was recently inducted into the prestigious Motion Picture Sound Editors organisation. The MPSE is non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a wealth of knowledge from award winning professionals to a diverse group of individuals, youth and career professionals alike; mentoring and educating the community about the artistic merit and technical advancements in sound and music editing. We are proud that Dean has been invited to join the organisation and look forward to hearing of his next projects.
