SSR Manchester students work on Abbey Road "Live Here Now"
SSR students were recently on hand to assist with Abbey Road’s ‘Live Here Now’ Eliza Doolittle show at the Manchester Academy venue.
The students, currently studying on SSR’s ‘Sound Engineering & Design’ course in association with The University Of Bolton, helped with the initial setting up for the event as well as supporting the live sound technicians to record the show in its entirety. This recording was then mixed down and made available via an audio CD for purchase after the concert had finished.
The students had to use the knowledge and skills they had acquired during their time on the Sound Engineering & Design Course. Working under the pressure of a live event and being able to mix under a strict time limit was key for this event and the students honoured this responsibility.
Alex Bilney, Abbey Road Live Here Now:
“On behalf of the whole Abbey Road Live Here Now team I would like to say thank you very much for supplying us with your hard working students for the Eliza Doolittle show. They were a credit to your institution and were of great assistance to the team on the road. They worked hard, and were very quick to learn the processes of our operation.”
Giving students the opportunity to implement their skills in a real world environment is priceless and this is owed to the fantastic industry connections that tutors here at SSR possess.
