The Answering Machine visit SSR
Following the recent recordings with Dutch Uncles and Sisters of Transistors, SSR recently welcomed indie rock band The Answering Machine for a day of recording in our flagship Spirit Studio.
The session was recorded for Pete Mitchell’s ‘Razor Cuts’ programme and once again the performance was followed by an interview with the band.
The session was overseen by SSR graduate Viktor Sigurjónsson, with assistance from fellow students Tom Leech and Asgeir Einarsson who are completing SSR’s Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology course.
The Answering Machine: “It was great day’s recording at SSR. The drum room in particular has a fantastic sound and we would love to come back for more sessions!”
“Working on the Razor Cuts project has been lots of fun and at the same time a real challenge. Engineering for the Answering Machine was a pleasure, and the experiences of these sessions have been really helpful for me as an engineer learning my craft.”
The opportunity for SSR students to collaborate on the “Razor Cuts” sessions is a unique learning experience for them and another example of our strong industry connections and commitment to Manchester’s music scene.
