SSR students get the X-Factor
SSR students were recently treated to a special guest lecture from Nick Netsall. For those not in the know, Nick is a leading post production professional who has worked on some of Britain’s biggest TV shows, including The X Factor, Derren Brown & Charlie Brookers Screenwipe.
Nick dropped in on the Film & TV Audio Post Production course last week to share some of his many experiences within the industry, give advice to our students and answer questions about the world of Post Production.
Nick has worked for some of the UK’s leading Post Production houses including ‘The Farm’ and ‘Sumners’ along with plenty of high profile Freelance jobs, and his input and advice was of great benefit to students on the course.
Along with divulging some trade secrets about our favourite shows, Nick was sharing some of the techniques and working practises that go into producing high profile programmes, documentaries and films, giving advice and tips on track-laying, mixing and dubbing techniques.
Film & TV Audio post Production tutor Norbert Weiher:
“Nick’s guest lecture was another great chance for my students to get in touch with industry professionals sharing their secrets on programmes that are currently in transmission. His input and advice was well-received and will definitely be of help to those on the course looking to get into the industry.”
We would like to thank Nick for coming down and getting involved with SSR and helping our students, taking time out of his busy schedule to help develop the up-and-coming talent here at SSR.
