SSR at Girls Aloud
For a second time, SSR students were in attendance at the Girls Aloud gig at the Manchester Evening News arena.
On Friday 29th of May, SSR Live Sound students went along to the M.E.N. to get a first hand, behind the scenes look of what goes into putting on an arena scale gig.
The students were invited onto the stage area to observe the microphone placement for the girls and the musicians, and to get a closer look at the on-stage monitoring and front of house speaker systems. They were then encouraged to walk around the audience areas during the sound check to observe the uniform dispersal of the sound around the arena.
Ex SSR Live Sound students Pete Seddon is currently working on the tour and was good enough to give all of our students various tasks to do during the show.
"It was a pleasure to have the students from SSR visit the tour. It was a chance to give something back. I know that the old boys of the live sound world feel somewhat reassured about the future of the music industry when they see such enthusiastic young engineers hungry for their jobs"
