SSR Manchester - MMU - New Academic Partner
MMU - New Academic Partner
SSR is delighted to have formed an academic partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University. This new affiliation with MMU will see SSR deliver an exciting new foundation degree course; Post Production Technologies for Film, TV & CGI.

This groundbreaking FdSc degree is a unique collaboration which will enable students to study in the best environments possible. The post production facility at SSR was designed by post audio specialist John Wood, famous for his contribution to the television industry over the last 40 years.

The course will enable students to become fully trained in all aspects of post, in both audio and visual production, including the art of motion capture. Students on the course will have the advantage of utilizing the world class facilities on offer at both MMU and SSR.

MMU’s Media Lab is a cutting edge development equipped with industry standard cameras, editing software and CGI facilities. The Media lab also comprises an Animation Capture Suite with ‘iStopMotion’ software, an Apple Mac suite, Sound and Video Editing suites along with a 3d design suite for digital modelling.

Combined with the outstanding Foley, post production and recording studio facilities available here at SSR, students on the course will have at their disposal the very best in equipment, training rooms, tutors and industry links which will give them the leading edge when it comes to finding employment upon graduation.

SSR post production tutor Norbert Weiher had this to say about the collaboration:
"This is great news for us, but even better news for the students of this course. With Media City in Salford on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to get this type of training."
