Post Production field trip to Granada Studios
SSR post production students were last week invited to a tour of Granada Studios in Manchester, to see first hand the post production techniques that go into producing some of our favourite television programmes. The trip was organised by Mike Hayes of ITV/3Sixtymedia, who are of course one of our creative partners. Because of these strong links with the industry, our students were given a privileged opportunity to meet the staff as well as learn from the professionals in action.
The students were accompanied by SSR Post Production tutor Norbert Weiher on the trip, which saw them take a tour of the studios and get an insight into the professional production of programmes like Coronation Street.
Mike Hayes, head of 3sixtymedia, said:
“It was great to have SSR students down here at Granada Studios, we know the post production courses will be producing our future employees and the students are getting real industry standard training and experience. As always it is great to work with SSR!”
Looming for next year is an opportunity for SSR students to get involved in a live show production at Granada studios, alongside further trips and guest lectures. In related news, SSR will be delivering 310i (Icon) Pro Tools training at Granada Studios utilising their ‘D-Control’ mixing console.
