Royal Northern College of Music & SSR
The Royal Northern College of Music and SSR are to start a unique partnership which will see SSR students collaborating with their RNCM counterparts.
SSR students will now be able to choose from a full range of classical and contemporary instrumentation to record while RNCM students will be able to get recordings of their music using some of SSR’s facilities. Student bands from the RNCM will also make regular use of the Live Venue as SSR students will perform front-of-house and monitor mixes for a whole range of musical styles.
SSR Principal Ian Hu:
“This is one the most exciting links that SSR has ever formed. Effectively it gives our students ‘talent on demand’. Imagine working on a piece of music using synths and samples initially but then bringing in a real brass section or a string quartet. That kind of thing would normally cost a fortune.”
Andy Stott – Programme Leader, Royal Northern College of Music added:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for our students who are some of the most talented musicians in the UK to work with the students of SSR. I’m really impressed with SSR’s facilities, staff and professional approach so we know our students are in safe hands."
SSR Student Felix adds:
"Once again SSR proves it’s the best place to be. The school is always looking for ways to enhance & improve opportunities for students to become the best in the business"
