Success Story - James Crossan & Dave Duffy - Zutekh
James Crossan & Dave Duffy completed the SSR Electronic Music Production course and then went on to start the Zutekh nightclub promotion brand in Manchester.
Zutekh Manchester describe their journey as rising from “a small midweek party for friends, in a tiny space above a Shisha Cafe on Manchester’s Curry Mile to become an independent brand like no other.” Since moving to their current home two years ago - the Sound Control Basement - the team behind Zutekh have created one of the best and most hyped club nights in Manchester. Their brand specialises in house & techno and they consistently showcase some of the biggest DJ’s around.
Without ever pigeonholing themselves to the same straightforward genre and booking policy month in month out, they have brought the likes of Slam, Dyed Soundorom, M.A.N.D.Y, Craig Richards, Chris Duckenfield, Dan Ghenacia, Lee Foss, Julietta, Subb-an and Terry Francis to Manchester, ensuring sell out events with 500 + people each and every time.
They have featured at Creamfields 2011, Parklife Festival & Hideout Festival (Croatia) 2011/12 and are also regulars at The Warehouse Project in Manchester which draws in people from all across the country.
This year Zutekh celebrated their 4th Birthday in October with their biggest line-up to date as well as planning even bigger shows for 2013, with news they will launch their own label & agency.
EMP tutor Damion O’Brien:
“David and James were both a pleasure to teach as EMP students. Their determination and passion to produce high quality house music showed through then and is evident now with the massively successful Zutekh nights.”
