SSR Manchester - SSR Partners With Sankeys
SSR Partners With Sankeys
We’re delighted to announce that we have recently teamed up with legendary Manchester club Sankeys for an informal partnership that we hope to grow throughout 2015 and beyond.

As a starting point, students on our Music Production and DJ courses will get the chance to regularly head over to Sankeys and put their DJ skills into action or road test their own productions on the club’s sound systems, with SSR students opening up their Spektrum room ahead of the main Sankeys nights on Fridays and Saturdays.

There will also be opportunities for our live sound students to shadow the club’s team of in-house sound engineers during events, allowing them to see first-hand how sound is produced and engineered in a nightclub environment.

We’ll also be arranging exclusive guest lectures from Sankeys’ promotion staff and resident and visiting DJs for our students across a range of SSR courses including BSc (Hons) Music Business & Creative Industries, Electronic Music Production, BA (Hons) Electronic Music Production & DJ Practice, Audio Engineering Techniques & Technology and Live Sound Engineering.

In addition to the above, we’ll be selling general admission tickets and discount student tickets for the club’s events through our reception desk.

The opportunity to practise on Sankeys’ DJ and PA setups presents a great chance for SSR students to gain experience in a world class nightclub environment, while hearing from the guest lecturers associated with the club will allow them to see what goes on behind the scenes and find out what makes a club like Sankeys tick.

We hope to announce further details and dates shortly so keep an eye on the SSR website and social networks for info.

We’d like to say a big thank you to the Sankeys team for offering these opportunities to our students and we’re looking forward to seeing how the partnership develops in the coming months.
