On Wednesday 6th May we invited our recent Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology
students for a night of fun and feedback to celebrate finishing their course.
Jimbo Barry, friend of SSR and songwriter / producer for the likes The Script with releases on EMI, Universal, Sony Music, Columbia and many more came along to present the certificates and give valuable feedback and advice to the graduates.
Massive congratulations to all of the graduating students from everyone at SSR!
Gabriel Mendoza Emery
Special mention also goes to Andrew Lavender, who was awarded the Highest Achiever
award and was also presented with special audio gifts to help him with his future career which we are sure is going to be great.
After being awarded their certificates the students showcased some of their best work and discussed the process from conception to creation, with feedback and advice on how to improve them further from Jimbo and SSR’s Adam Lidbetter, Jonathan Espinosa and Mike Greig. We were all very impressed at the high level of work and the variety of styles. Following on from the critique, Jimbo and Mike shared their experiences of their journey into the music industry and answered questions from the students.
The overall theme of the discussion was that you have to trust yourself, do something you love and not over think things or worry what other people may think. A fine sentiment indeed! View all the pictures from the night here
And look out for student success stories from our recent graduates which will be online soon!
