As a new aspect to our close industry partnership with Ableton, SSR will provide an Ableton Push 2 and Ableton Live Suite to each student starting on our Electronic Music & DJ Practice
in London this September.“Ableton Live and Push are an intrinsic part of the EM&DJP degree course, used for both production and performance. Straight away in the first year, students learn to create music using Ableton Live, and by having both the software and hardware to use at home, we hope to remove the barriers that some students face by not being able to invest in this equipment for themselves.”
– Jake Williams (London Course Leader – Electronic Music & DJ Practice)
As the course progresses, Ableton is used heavily in the performance, audio-visual and sound design modules, and by having unlimited access to both Ableton Live and Push, students will be able to develop more advanced workflows and manipulation possibilities. Then during their final year of the course, as extremely proficient users of Ableton Live and Push, our students will be able to look at the possibilities of building their own devices and control systems in Max for Live.
By offering this valuable access to industry standard software and equipment, we aim to facilitate deep learning both within and outside of the course to ensure students reach a professional level by the time they graduate the course.
