My name is Michael Pollock, I've been studying at the School of Sound recording for 3 years, graduating in summer of the 2015.
My interest in this field began when I was in sixth form studying Music technology, and my love of recording and mixing was first found there. On a suggestion from a friend I had a look at one of SSR's open evenings, and from there it was decided that I wanted to do sound engineering as a degree, it wasn't until the first few months of study that I learned I wanted to do this as a career.
Over the past 3 years, I have done multiple audio projects including the recording, mixing and mastering for bands including Neurosync, GRIN, The Nu Popes and Ian Davidson alongside others, (please do have a look at my soundcloud for more information). I have also done Audio post-production for both stereo and 5.1 surround sound mediums and multiple live sound events as Front-of-House Engineer, monitor engineer and stage hand. I have even volunteered at multiple festivals including Galtres, Headlander, SOS and aware fest amongst others.
At present, I am a self-employed freelance engineer with a passion for sound engineering for music production. Seeking work either in the music recording studio or in live music venues and festivals. Armed with existing FOH and monitor engineering experience, having worked at the Zombie Shack, Grand Central, The Ducie Bridge in Manchester as well as working at the Hark to Towler in Tottington, Bury.
