SSR Success Story - Alex Goodby, Event Production / Live Sound Assistant

Alex Goodby

Event Production / Live Sound Assistant

Sound Engineering & Design FdSc

Alex Goodby studied our academic course FdSc Sound Engineering & Design. He has since fast tracked onto the BSc which is set to finish in September 2012.

Alex was recently accepted onto a work placement at Audile, an event production company based in Manchester, supplying sound, lighting and AV systems on a wet- or dry-hire basis. He began working in their warehouse before being asked to work on the legendary Amon Tobin’s ISAM tour. Alex performed fantastically on his first outing and was then asked to be a stage tech on the main stage at Parklife Festival on the Saturday and then Stage 6 on Sunday.

Alex’s work didn’t stop there...after the successful stints at Parklife and with Amon Tobin he was asked to work as main stage tech for both the Beatherder festival and Camp Bestival.

Alex’s work has ranged from cabling, PA construction and artist liaison all the way through to FOH and Monitors.

SSR would like to congratulate Alex and wish him all the best for the future.
