SSR graduate Oscar Santisteban-Cole recently got in touch with some great news about his career since leaving SSR.
Oscar was a much-loved student during his time at here, gaining great results on his Audio Engineering course and also doing a brilliant job as an SSR studio assistant, working with our resources team helping to manage and maintain our famous studios.
On returning to his native country of Peru, Oscar has landed a position at Elias Ponce Studios in Lima. Elias Ponce is one of the countries best recording facilities, comprising well equipped studios and attracting many famous bands and producers from Peru and South America which, as Oscar puts it, makes it “a great place to be!”
Oscar has been assisting on some high-profile sessions at the studios, along with working on his own productions in his spare time and getting involved with Live Sound engineering for concerts in Chiclayo and Lima.
My tasks here in the studio go from recording, editing and pre mixing, to pre mastering at the moment. I only started 2 months ago so they’re assigning me more complex tasks day by day.
I’ve done lots of Live Sound (every week) in Chiclayo for a year, and now I’m starting to get into live sound here in Lima also.
I’d like to thank everybody at SSR for all the knowledge, experience and confidence they gave me. Without you guys I wouldn’t have been able to achieve my goals as an audio engineer, and there’s many more to come!
I’d like to give special thanks first to my family, without them I wouldn’t have been able to study at SSR in the first place, and my lectures Martin Desai, Chris Power, Steve Buckley, Paul Maunder, Alan Wrench and Jay Beard.”
