Nicolas Romero

Live Sound Engineer

Live Sound Engineering

After completing our Live Sound Course in Feb 2009 and working for PA company Noise Box during his stay in Manchester, international student Nicolas Romero returned to Colombia and secured a job at Loop Live Productions; a production company working with international acts visiting the country such as Skatallites, In Flames, NOFX, The Wailers, and Mastodon.

Nicolas also spent some time last year on a promotional tour of France and the UK with his band The Hall Effect, ending the tour by playing support for bands such as Wolfmother and The Butterfly Effect.

In 2010, between working with his own bands, Nicolas has had the chance to be involved in the production of high profile concerts for acts such as Franz Ferdinand, Matisyahu and Metallica in Bogota, working as a freelance system tech, stage crew, backline tech, and production support. Nicolas is currently preparing for a Latin-American Tour with The Hall Effect.

Nicolas Romero:
“My time at SSR and in Manchester not only gave me the opportunity to meet such incredible and talented people, but gave me invaluable tools to face big productions. Working with Metallica and playing an essential role in the production of the show was an amazing experience and one that my time at SSR definitely prepared me for. I just want to thank SSR and Jay Beard for opening my mind to bigger things, and for strongly believing in all the things that I could achieve.”
