Guy completed our FdSc Sound Engineering and Design course last September and moved over to the rather glamorous Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, where he has since been finding his feet and settling into the local culture.
After a year seeking employment in Brazil’s music industry, Guy has just landed a placement with award winning sound engineer Plinio Profeta. Plinio, who won a Latin Grammy award for his work with Brazilian artist ‘Lenine’, offered Guy a training placement with him after a successful test recording session.
“Plinio asked me to go for a test session, where we recorded 2 Sao Paulo groups “Stop Take Moon” and “Andrea E Miranda”. He was more than satisfied with my level of professionalism and knowledge of the studio equipment, offering me a job as an assistant which will also be a training position.”
“I just wanted to say a big thank you to SSR as my time at the college has helped change my life. I don’t think Plinio would have given me the chance had it not been for the qualifications and skills I learnt at SSR. Special thanks also to Ian Hu and Martin Desai for believing in me and taking me onto the course. I couldn’t have done it without you!”
