Dan Smith is currently studying our industry course Audio Engineering Techniques & Technology and through our partnership with Somewhere_to has been working with UK entertainment brand “Bankers Club”.
Somewhere_To, sponsored by Channel 4 and the Arts Council, have formed a partnership with SSR to provide rehearsal and recording space for new unsigned acts showing the potential to break into the industry.
Students from our flagship Audio course are making the most of these professional opportunities to develop their portfolio of experience and connections to the industry.
It is this sort of support that makes SSR the UK's leading provider of training for Sound Engineering and Music Production.
Dan was involved with the recording and mixing of 12 tracks for Croydon rapper Sloozie’s upcoming album in our Neve & Icon studios. Dan has been working closely with Sloozie’s producer Gideon who wrote and programmed the tracks alongside her.
"I've been very lucky to be given this opportunity, both by SSR and by Bankers Corp, to record and mix Sloozie's debut album. As well as having amazing teaching and facilities at the college, SSR offers experiences such as this one to help students get their foot in the door of the industry. I have already recorded 1 track of the album, and can tell this is going to be a great journey."
