As a first superb step for Aldrian, a student from our Digital Film and Music Video Production (DFMVP) course of SSR Jakarta, a video lyric was accomplished in a context of collaboration with Universal. Universal Music Indonesia trusted Aldrian to create the video lyric which was made for one of Universal’s talents, Hivi.
Universal Music was attracted by Aldrian’s works for his projects at SSR Jakarta. Mr Dhani Agustinus, DFMVP’s lecturer, gave DFMVP students a few projects which are related to the modules. Each student has talents according to their characters and tastes. Mr Agustinus found that Aldrian had the suitable capability for what Universal Music looked for, then he supported Aldrian and recommended his work to assure Universal Music Indonesia decision to collaborate with him.
Through an uneasy process, Aldrian finished the video lyric after he had been working on it for about two weeks:
“When I heard this Hivi video lyric titled “Curi-Curi”, I was thinking about something dynamic rather than static. So I adapted dynamic concept for the video. Before I enter the video opening, I had been looking for many references and also considering advices from Hivi and Universal Music Indonesia. After getting a description for the video lyric, I made the first draft for the video. This project is not a one-time process, there were some refinements. But I am proud of the result that is now published on YouTube, Universal Music Indonesia channel.”
This collaboration network is one of SSR Jakarta’s advantages that have been provided for SSR students. What Aldrian and Universal Music have done is one of the real actions that SSR Jakarta wants the students to achieve.
