SSR Manchester - SSR Graduates Assist On Mr Scruff's New Album
SSR Graduates Assist On Mr Scruff's New Album
Long time friend and associate of SSR, Mancunian Dj and producer Mr Scruff, released his latest album Friendly Bacteria on Monday.

The album, available on CD, Vinyl and download via record label Ninja Tune, was mixed at SSR by Mr Scruff with assistance from graduate students Adam Stokel and Tom Leach. Introduced by head of Audio Martin Desai, the chance to work on the album was a great opportunity for Tom and Adam to put the knowledge and skills gained during their course and work at SSR to use.

During the sessions, which took place in our DiGiCo, Einstein and Spirit recording studios, Tom and Adam, both SSR studio assistants, assisted Mr Scruff with the album mixes and some recording elements, which even saw Adam playing bass on a few of the tracks.

Both students have received official credits on the album which is great news for their professional portfolios of work and experience. SSR and other staff are also thanked with the tongue in cheek (Thanks to…) “Adam, Tom, Martin, Matt, Nick, Vicky, Greg, Pete, Alex, Dancing Jim and all at SSR for their never ending geeky generosity.

Martin Desai - SSR Manchester head of Audio:
"This was a brilliant experience for Tom and Adam to be involved with. Both are already accomplished engineers and I was more than happy to recommend them for the sessions. It is to their credit they did such a magnificent job and great for them to have official recognition on the album liner notes. Well done to all involved!"

It was an absolute pleasure for everyone at SSR to work with Mr Scruff on producing the album through to its release and we can’t welcome him back to our studios in the future.

If you would like to purchase the album we can highly recommend grabbing a copy from Piccadilly Records or a download service of your choosing!
